March 15th, 2015 was a beautiful day in Florida, of course because of the sunshine and warm weather, but also because a team of representatives from KODAheart met up at Adventure’s Landing in St. Augustine, FL to host the “Play with KODAheart” event. A fun location for kids and adults of any age, people had the ability to play putt putt, ride go-karts, hit in the batting cages, or escape the heat in the indoor arcade.
Deaf parents and their kids in the North Florida area came out to learn more about the resources they could find with KODAheart, but to also have some good old fashion family fun. A number of kids, both koda and deaf could be seen having a blast on the putt putt course and also winning a ton of tickets in the arcade, then cashing in those tickets for some pretty nifty prizes. When they weren’t doing that, they could be found hanging out and playing with Remy, the newest addition to the KODAheart team.

s the end of the event, there was a great go-kart race involving many of the families that came. Before the day came to an official end, the KODAheart team even found themselves having fun in the batting cages. Even Chad Maldonado, who didn’t think highly of his own batting skills, was able to connect on more than one occasion. The day ended with the traditional group picture, and a round of mutual thanks, to KODAheart for coming to town to host the event, and to the families for making it so successful!
