During the last week in September communities across the US and around the world come together to celebrate Deaf Awareness Week (also known as the International Week of the Deaf). It is a time to recognize language, culture, and experiences of deaf and hard of hearing people. During this week many organizations plan events and host activities, all to celebrate deaf culture. KODAheart supported these efforts through a week-long social media blast. Below you’ll see our daily posts and updates!

This list is designed to empower community members to raise awareness about the Deaf community through fun activities outside or inside your own home.

Deaf clubs have always served as the central social hub for the deaf community in cities all over the world. From hosting events to sponsoring athletic events, clubs historically have provided a place for members to gather and connect without barriers. #k3didyouknow #deafawareness #IWD2016 #deafawarenessweek #internationalweekofthedeaf #internationaldeafweek #deafclub •••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••••• [Image description.
